Housing options for international internships
Housing, travel, and living expenses are not included in the placement fee. The Global Intern can provide you with a range of affordable housing options. First, consider your needs and preferences. The following will all have an impact on your housing budget:
- Do you want a room-mate or do you prefer a single room?
- What location do you need, or are you flexible for a longer commute?
- Do you want to live with a host family (in their home)?
- Do you want dormitory style (residence hall) with one room and many on a floor sharing bath facilities?
- Do you want an apartment setup (group flat) where a handful of students share a living room, bath room and kitchen, but you have your own bedroom or share with one room-mate?
Based on the answers to these questions you may want to consider some of the following options ranging from most to least expensive:
- Group Flats (apartments)
- Residence Halls (like university dormitories)
- Host Families (living with a family in their home)
- Hostels (like a smaller university dorm)
